ah. yea, the church is like that typically. All factions draw recruits from the same place, though. Except nextgen. They recruit from military elite.
hey oreo look wat is found http://oreo47.deviantart.com/art/Autu mn-War-ver-0-011-26635080 i cant get out melee even as fast as i press A >.<
yea, there alot of stuff broken with that... I might be integrating the graphics engine into AW3, though.
if youre military and your fighting zombies do you get a flamethowrer because if you burned a zombies it would melt quickly because it has no insides and if youre church can youre hero be an angel
You can get flamethrowers, which are the ultimate melee weapon, but make the user VERY vulnerable to enemy fire. Each faction gets super units, and i don't want to spoil anything.
PDF stands for planetary defense forces, which are the first line of defence if an imperial planet is under attack. Their technology can range from muskets (YES MUSKETS) to Imperial Guard lasrifles, but their training is always a bit lower.
So are you making the shotgun/M203 another weapon rather then an attachment?
awesome! I love pistols. Wondering though, what was the pistol in AW1 based on?
It looked kinda like a sig or a SOCOM. Make a 1911 for AW2!
Yeah, they both get expensive. What really makes paintball expensive is the ammo. My airsoft loadout got pretty damn expensive by now too >_>
So you've tried zombie games? We're actually planning to do some organized zombie games, with muliple factions, full day length games and such.
Im doing the shotgun as it's own weapon, and if i do the grenade launcher attachment for the m16, then the shotgun attachment is a go, too.
I think it was a glock, although i prefer the 1911 to the socom.
It would be like one of those zombie walks... but with guns. It could work, but balancing it would be a bitch.
This's gonna smack the fuck out of anything on the top 50 list and it won't be smacked off the top 1 for a long ass time, I guarentee it. This shit is going to rock. Can't wait, yo.
My sentiments exactly.
I'm still deciding whether I should play as the Army or the Church. Both seem pretty awesome.
If you specialize in hunting raiders AND witches, you will have the support of both army and church.
1911s are s hella awesome sidearm, reliable as hell and lethal. They use a subsonic cartridge too, so the rounds don't make a "crack", suppressor or not.
Yeah, I've gone through like 10 versions of the rules now >_>
Basically;
factions are assigned goals and weapons
A couple factions:
-military
well armed, but difficult goals, also spread out and few in number
-police
fairly well armed, but they start out barricaded and cut off from their weapons (a la RE2)
-civilians
they get pistols and manually operated weapons. their only goal is to escape the city alive
-PMC
basically the psychopaths from Dead Rising or The Raiders in AW2, but with financial backing. they're similar in the aspect that they are basically allowed to do anything.
The event is held for an entire day, and zombies switch with humans half way through.
Basically, the zombies job is to just kill enough of the humans to keep them from getting the stuff done. They have unlimited respawn and can be either "rager" or "shambler" type zombies.
I can explain further if you're interested
Me and some friends did something like that (elastic-band guns) way-back. Players would start as human, except for one zombie, and you would get infected by being tagged. Zombies got knocked down for a few seconds when hit. It was really fun because every round only lasted a few minuets, and always ended in a last stand.
Playgrounds are the best for it, because standing at the top offers a great vantage point, and zombies can climb up from any angle, not to mention a ton of cover... gets really frantic, really fast.
Oreo what fraction do you think is the most fun to play?
Do you have a development website?
Depends on your play-style. Each faction accommodates all. Military has the most options, but is spread REALLY thin.
Church is good, because you can work in small witch-hunter teams until a town is under siege.
Raiders are good, because you are only really worried about lining your pocket, and can usually abandon objectives without consequence, other then not getting paid, and loss of confidence from your employer.
Working for a town offers the most rapid career advancement, but often leaves you under paid and under equipped.
Working for the undead offers powers that cannot be gained any other way, but it's a lonely, dangerous path...
So, in the end, the player kinda makes their own faction, by combining the other factions.
Whoa, so we can play as multiple factions? Dang, that's tight!
word.
This will probably be the next best thing since Mud and Blood 2.
Anyways.......
My current waiting list.
EndWar
Empire Total War
Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2
Autumn War 2
the total war series is (in my opinion) the best strategy franchise of all time... that, and maybe advance wars.
the first DoW was the best, but then they skimped on the voice actors in the expansions. The dark eldar were sooo boring to listen to.
can you upgrade ure units like end war giving them new special abililtys change in color etc?
I haven't played endwar, but units can be upgraded in both equipment, and perks.
Agreed, although Medieval 2 is bug-filled and needs to be patched before the game is actually functional.
As for DoW, outsourcing to iron lore for Soulstorm was a mistake..since Iron Lore was on the verge of closing and therefore had almost no budget. The lines for the Dark Eldar are good..but...well, the acting is...subpar.
Spehs Mehreens from Captain Boreale and METAL BOXES!
I miss the SINDRI!!! moment.
my philosophy is if you don't want to make a game, shelf it. Otherwise you wind up out sourcing to people who think sisters of battle are cooler than tyranids. That, and the air units concept sucks, and the execution sucks just as hard.
When they gave it to Iron Lore, they changed a lot of the codes or whatever, and it's making it much harder for Relic to patch the game.
Oh yeah, do units level up?
Im still working on that; i don't want to do the traditional thing, where you go level grinding, so instead i might rely solely on perks. Being in battle for long enough earns the 'hardened' perk, which allows the unit to engage the enemy, even when pinned. Using automatic weapons long enough earns the 'blocker' perk, which doubles the units suppression rating. Using the pistol long enough earns the quick-draw perk, which increases the units ability in melee/stealth kills. etc.
thanks for da awenser oreo hey wats ure gamer tag? oh and do u think since ure game is gonna be EPIC u might get a sponser like armor games and such
I don't have one yet, but i'll probably go with 'oreo47'. Armor games is good, but i'll probably just go with the highest bidder. Im like a merc or something.
did that airsoft message go through?
btw, did you get your hard drive and such yet?
got it, but it's a big read, so it will have to wait till i have brandy and a fireplace to read it in front of while I say 'hmm...'
Nah, i got a $50 gift certificate for best buy, and the cheapest HD is >$70, so im doing a small missile command type game to just get a new rig. That will speed up production alot, and allow a full-res trailer, which I have been dying to do for a couple months now.
If I've got that right, You're making another small game?
Well I hope it's just not some poor "cash-in" and actually a good game. Anyhow please finish AW2 soon ^^
It's going to be simple and fun, and it uses the AW engine, so it will be pretty, too.
A few more questions:
1. do you think the hover tank would have two railgun cannons outfitted to be highly accurate and would it have small lasers
2. by lazer cannons i mean like base defenses so will there be any base defenses that are nextgen lasers?
3. Will the nextgen be playable?
4.If the next gen is playable will they have flying vehicles like air support that shoots lasers down at the enemy while strafing and some helicopter tings that fly just like helicopters and look lioke em but instead of rotor blades they have plasma engines?
1) I'm thinking of making a dreadnought type tank, but in the first campaign it will probably be an abrams chassis with single railgun.
2) The next gens will have an orbital bombardment option, which cannot be used during rain (overcast obscures satellite feed)
3) Not in the first campaign.
4) yep, pretty much.
Head-Commander
A few questions for oreo
1. are there going to be JETPACKS!!! in the game?
2.will there be natural disasters that may happen from time to time in the game?
3.are you going to answer these questions? LOL JK ABOUT NUMBER 3
4. are there going to be huge lazer cannons for the nextgen elite?
5. will there be hovertanks for the nextgen elite?
6.will the railgun have unlimited ammo or limited ammo?
Oreo47
1) highly unlikely, but troops can rapple out of blackhawks... sorta the same...
2) some elder witches can influence weather...
3) yea.
4) railguns kinda count as lazor
5) their current tank is the abrams... but hover tank might work, too. would not be hard to do...
6) hmm... not sure... still working on the ammo system.
